I added a xp computer to an existing cluster running win98 (standard
ethernet / switch). I can't get the xp to 'see' the win 98 machined or vice
verse

All computers are on the same subnet (10.42.42.xx / 255.255.255.0). All
computers can 'ping' each other. But if I type
\\10.42.42.xx on the xp-computer it can't connect to any 98-computer (or
inverse).
I have run the wizard for "..home network or small office network on the xp
computer.
All are the same workgroup. No firewalls installed / the xp is not
activated. Tried to remove and install various protocols on the xp. The 98
computers run tcp and og netbios and microsoft file- og printer sharing

I appreciate any suggestion!

Thanks!

Run the wizard again and have it create an update diskette for Win98,
then run it on the Win98 computers. The TCP/IP protocol in some of the
Win98 releases doesn't work correctly with XP.
